Values Deliberation and Collective Action

A new book by Beniamino Cislaghi et al describes an effective empowerment programme in Senegal.

Beniamino Cislaghi joined the Gender, Violence and Health Centre (GVHC) in 2016 as a Lecturer in Social Norms. In this book – Values Deliberation and Collective Action – Ben and co-authors describe an effective programme to empower individuals and collectives in communities in rural Senegal.

They explain the process of “values deliberations”: sustained group reflections on local values, aspirations, beliefs and experiences, blended with discussions of how to understand and to realise human rights.
